Winners named for Macau Architectural Photography Competition 2026

The Macau Architectural Photography Competition 2026 had garnered 306 entries from 143 participants, with winners across the Open Group and Student Group recently announced in a statement by the organiser, CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism.

Now in its fifth consecutive year and having garnered a total of 831 participants and 1,917 submissions since its inception in 2022, the 2026 edition was themed “People in Architecture”, challenging participants to “explore the relationship between people and space, and to capture the moments where architecture comes alive”.

Entries were collected from April through May 3.

According to the statement, the champion of the Open Group category was Nicholas Mok (莫加祺), with the second and third place going to Ip Man Hei (葉文熹) and Chan Peng Nam (陳炳南) respectively. Meanwhile, Yeung Hou Sam (楊皓森), Jonson Huang (黄宏迅) and Dong Liangyu (董良钰) respectively came first, second and third in the Student Category.

The total prize fund was 9,000 patacas, with the top prize for the Open Group being 3,000 patacas, with the winner of the Student Group set to receive 1,500 patacas, according to the event website.

Winners will be recognised in an award ceremony set to take place at 5 p.m. at the Ponte 9 - Creative Platform on Rua das Lorchas this Saturday, while an exhibition of the winning works will also be open until June 20, being open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
