The Judiciary Police (PJ) have arrested a 33-year-old man surnamed Li for falsely imprisoning a gambler from the mainland who died during his confinement, a PJ spokesperson said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The spokesperson said the gambler was found dead on a platform located on the second floor of a residential high-rise in Nape on May 25. At that time, the police told the local media in a statement that the man was suspected of having committed suicide.
After investigating, the police confirmed that the victim entered the city on May 23, after which he went to a casino in Cotai to gamble, according to the spokesperson.
