3 HK suspects nabbed in 2 drug busts: police

The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested two men and a woman from Hong Kong in two separate drug busts this week, a PJ spokesperson said during a special press conference at the PJ headquarters yesterday.

According to the spokesperson, the Judiciary Police recently received a tip-off about a man selling drugs in the northern district. After investigating, the Judiciary Police put the suspect’s flat under surveillance on Tuesday evening. The suspect left home early Wednesday morning and when walking near McDonald’s in Fai Chi Kei he was stopped, searched and subsequently arrested by the police.

The suspect is a 30-year-old man from Hong Kong, according to the spokesperson. The PJ officers found 40 packets of cocaine containing a total of 13.43 grammes on him. Later the PJ officers also raided his flat, where they found a 23-year-old female drug-taker also from Hong Kong, as well as three more packets of cocaine, a packet of methamphetamine (ICE), an electronic scale, and some drug-taking paraphernalia. The seizures have a street value of 45,000 patacas.
