A mobile application designed to help the visually impaired catch a bus, will be launched next month, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced yesterday during a press conference at the Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind.

According to the bureau, the application features audio bus route information, announcing how many stops away the bus is. Some buses will also have speakers installed by the door, over which the arrival of the bus and its route number will be announced.

Dozens of the centre’s members were present to try out the new application on a New Era bus that plies the No. 1 route.
