Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) Vice President Leong Wai Man said yesterday the government believed that the drafting of an official plan for the protection and management of the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of Macau will meet earlier requirements of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Leong made the remarks as a guest speaker at Macau Forum, a weekly open-air debate hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in Areia Preta Park every Sunday.

The government launched a two-month public consultation on January 20 for the drafting of an official plan for the protection and management of the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of Macau.
