An Indonesian man has been arrested for seven thefts committed between February and April, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Choi Iok Kin said during a regular news conference in Zape yesterday.

Choi noted that the suspect, Johanes, is in his fifties, and claimed to be unemployed.

According to Choi, the police received two theft reports, the first on February 15 and the other last Thursday. In the first case, a smartphone was reported stolen from an Internet café in Rua da Erva, while in the second case, a wallet and a smartphone were reported stolen from a social welfare organisation in Largo de Santo Agostinho. The items stolen in the two thefts were worth a total of about 13,000 patacas. After investigating, the police found the suspect in the two cases to be the same person.

This handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) shows the suspect being escorted to a police vehicle outside a police station on Monday.
