The Public Security Police (PSP) fined five mainland men and women for walking across the Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, commonly known as “Old Bridge”, on Sunday morning, when the No. 9 storm signal was up, PSP spokesman Fong Cheong Chun said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Fong said that the Public Security Police (PSP) at 10 a.m. spotted the quintet walking across the bridge towards Taipa. Officers stopped the five and took them to a police station in Taipa. Under questioning, three of them – one male and two females – told the police that they were worried about their family members who were staying in a hotel in Cotai and as there were no buses or taxis available at that time they were trying to walk across the bridge to Taipa.
Meanwhile, the other two said they were taking pictures near the bridge and on seeing the trio decided to cross the bridge with them.
