Concerning the massive investment scam involving a local real-estate agency announced by the police last week, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said it had received complaints from a total of 48 people up until yesterday, involving a total loss of HK$219 million,
PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon announced the rising number of victims during a regular press conference yesterday.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) first said in a statement last Thursday evening that they had received complaints from 25 victims between December 11 and last Thursday, all saying that a local woman surnamed Chiang had cheated them out of money by claiming to provide an investment scheme with a high rate of return.
