Guest speakers and members of the audience at yesterday’s Macau Forum agreed with the government’s proposed launch of a charge scheme on plastic carrier bags for retail businesses.
The weekly debate programme is hosted by government-owned broadcaster TDM in its Macau Forum studio in Zape every Sunday. The programme has been held indoors regularly since the beginning of this year after mostly taking place in Areia Preta Park for years.
The Executive Council announced last week that the government has drafted a bill which – if approved by lawmakers – would force retail outlets to charge customers for their plastic carrier bags.
