Online payment is prevalent in civil society nowadays. In order to ensure cyber security, the government should continuously strengthen the supervision of online trade safety while youths need to take responsibility for the protection of their personal data, Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) cloud security architect Antony Ma Yu-kit said during yesterday’s Global Money Week 2019 opening ceremony.
The ceremony co-organised by the Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) was held on the MUST campus in Taipa. It was attended by about 140 university students and invited guests.
Ma pointed out that nowadays people place a lot of trust in technology, and online electronic payment is also popular among consumers. These can be a challenge to the safety of people’s privacy if they use online platforms carelessly, according to Ma.
