Executive Council spokesman Leong Heng Teng said yesterday the government has drafted a bill amending the law on the hiring of non-resident workers, with the aim of preventing visitors who come to Macau on tourist visas from seeking a job here and eventually getting a non-resident work permit colloquially known as “blue card”.
Leong made the announcement during a press conference at Government Headquarters yesterday.
After a non-resident’s employment permit is approved by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), the Public Security Police, who run the city’s Immigration Department, will issue them with a work permit, colloquially known as “blue card”.
