Election committee candidate Kwan Tsui Hang, a former lawmaker representing the labour sector, said yesterday morning that if she’s elected a member of the Chief Executive Election Committee, she would cast her ballot for a new chief executive who will invest in diversifying the local economy.
Kwan made the remarks outside the Luso-Chinese Vocational and Technical School in Areia Preta district after casting her vote in the election of 344 members of the 400-head Chief Executive Election Committee, when reporters asked the veteran trade unionist about her expectations about the new chief executive.
Kwan, who was both a candidate and voter in yesterday’s election, succeeded in her election bid. There were just 350 candidates for the 344 seats at stake.
