Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said in Beijing yesterday that the Macau government was sparing no effort to study ways of resolving issues resulting from the fact that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) comprises three different jurisdictions – Hong Kong, Macau and the mainland, the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) said in a statement.
Chui made the remarks in Beijing during a meeting of the leading group for GBA development. The meeting, held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, was chaired by Vice Premier Han Zheng.
During the meeting, according to the statement, Chui presented Macau’s expected contributions to the 11-city conurbation project, such as the “adequate diversification” of Macau’s economy and Macau’s proactive involvement in the central government’s plan to develop the GBA into an international hub for scientific and technological innovation.
