Macau’s population – comprising local residents and non-resident workers – rose by 4,100 to 676,100 between the second and third quarters of this year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
Females accounted for 53.2 percent of the total.
Based on the Macau Special Administrative Region’s (MSAR) land area of 32.9 square kilometres, its population density amounted to 20,550 people per square kilometre in the third quarter, one of the highest in the world.
