The meeting focused on cooperation between Macau and Guangdong, with special emphasis on the joint development of Hengqin Island and further collaboration in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) which comprises nine Guangdong cities, Macau and Hong Kong. Customarily, both sides hold one cooperation meeting a year, one year in Macau and the other in Guangzhou. Ma headed a delegation from the Guangdong provincial government.
