The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) said in a statement yesterday that its Youth Activity Centre in Areia Preta is now accepting applications for those who wish to take part in its summer volunteer programme.
According to the statement, the programme aims to strengthen local youths’ sense of citizenship and civic duty, and encourage them to contribute to society, by participating in volunteer work.
The programme will recruit 90 youths, any residents aged from 13 to 25 can apply, the statement said.
The application deadline for the programme ends on July 21, and interviews will be carried out from July 26.
The programme is divided into basic and advanced groups, designed for youths with different levels of voluntarily work experience, the statement underlined.
The programme will start in August, and participating volunteers will have to complete at least 12 hours of training and more than six hours of volunteer services before receiving his or her certificate, the statement noted.
Applications can be made on the DSEJ official website (www.dsej.gov.mo/cj/cja), or in person at the bureau’s Youth Activities Centre in Areia Preta.
