The owner of a snack eatery was arrested for filming an upskirt video of a female customer in his eatery on Tuesday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said in a regular press conference yesterday.
The 34-year-old local male suspect surnamed Lao told the police that he is married.
According to Wong, when PSP officers were on patrol at the junction of Estrada da Areia Preta and Travessa das Hortas at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, two female university students, both in their early twenties, told them that they were told by passers-by that a man at a snack eatery they had just visited filmed an upskirt video of one of them. PSP officers accompanied them to the eatery to investigate.
Under questioning, Lao admitted that as he was attracted by the young woman wearing a short skirt he used his smartphone to take an upskirt video of her. Afterwards, while checking Lao’s mobile phone, the PSP officers discovered that Lao had filmed another upskirt video at his eatery last Friday. Officers also searched Lao’s homes in Estrada Coronel Nicolau de Mesquita in Taipa and Rampa dos Cavaleiros in Areia Preta but no further evidence was found.
Lao has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing an invasion of privacy charge, according to Wong.
