Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) Cultural Industries Research Centre Director Hua Jian said yesterday that Macau should consider becoming an art depository and a hub for art transactions and investments when considering the possible role of its cultural industries in the central governments ‘One Belt, One Road’ development strategy.
Hua, a professor at the academy, made the remarks on the sidelines of yesterday’s ‘One Belt, One Road Initiative and Opportunities for Macau Cultural Industries’ seminar at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.
Several dozen people including representatives from local tertiary education institutions and art groups attended the one-day seminar, which was co-organised by the local Chinese Cultural Exchange Association and Peking University Institute for Cultural Industries.
