Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) Director Fong Soi Kun said yesterday that due to the fact that the amount of pollutants recorded by the city’s roadside automatic air quality monitoring stations over the past two years has slightly increased, the bureau will launch a two-year study on the matter.
Fong made the announcement during a phone-in programme by government-owned broadcaster TDM’s Chinese-language radio channel.
Yesterday’s programme focused on the city’s air quality and accuracy of its weather forecasts.
