The Work Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province for the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin announced in a statement on Monday that it will launch the world’s first immersive embodied AI* theme park in the Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Resort, with the aims of exploring a new paradigm of industry integration and establishing a full-chain ecosystem for embodied AI in culture and tourism.
The statement noted that the project is jointly developed by Chimelong Group (長隆集團) and Agibot (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., which officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Hengqin on Sunday.
Operating under a deep “Tourism + Technology” integration model, the embodied AI-themed park will feature smart-themed hotels and embodied AI circus performances in Hengqin Chimelong Spaceship Park, according to the statement. It added that smart interactive experiences will be integrated across all scenarios, including science pop-up lectures, park parades, and hotel services, providing visitors with a fresh, immersive entertainment experience.
Additionally, a joint AI laboratory will be established within the park to tackle key technological bottlenecks, conduct real-world scenario validation, and drive the large-scale application of humanoid robots in the culture and tourism consumer sector, the statement said.
Currently, no large-scale embodied AI-themed theme park exists globally, as most overseas parks limit robot uses to localised pilot projects, the statement said, adding that by leveraging China’s mature, modern infrastructure, this initiative aims to fill a market void and establish a global competitive edge in tech-empowered tourism.
