Five artists are showcasing their works in an exhibition that is being held at the 10 Fantasia gallery titled “A Quintet”, which depicts Macau in the artists’ own styles.
According to a statement from the gallery, the artworks were done in watercolours, acrylics, sketch, charcoal, pastel and colour pencil. The statement noted that the artists include teachers, civil servants and designers. They are art lovers, with some who have participated in solo or joint exhibitions.
Through five different perspectives and sentiments, the artists depict a “unique and yet very different” Macau, the statement added. It shows faces of the city, its people and their lives that the five artists have discovered, hoping to “express and impress” their audiences with Macau’s uniqueness, which might become buried in one’s busy lives.
The statement said that the artists aim not to define the city, but to show it, painting Macau with their “lives, colours, strokes and memories”.
The exhibition runs until February 25. The gallery, which is located at 10 Calçada da Igreja de S. Lázaro, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.
