The graduation ceremony for the Global Career Development Facilitator* (GCDF) certification programme, organised by the Macau Youth Development Service Centre in conjunction with the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), was held at the Macau Youth Life and Career Planning Centre on Rua Nova de Toi San yesterday, during which 54 teachers and youth workers graduated from the 2025 Global Career Development Facilitator Certification Programme.
The GCDF certification programme, aiming to popularise career planning services in Macau’s secondary schools, allows more young people to plan their careers early and help them develop, according to a statement issued by the centre.
The programme trained 54 teachers, career and academic advisors and youth workers from secondary schools and community organisations.
The statement underlined that the graduates have been trained to deliver career planning services at schools and youth groups, advancing the bureau’s goal of progressively achieving comprehensive career planning coverage for all secondary school students.
Education and Youth Development Bureau Vice Director Wong Ka Ki noted in his speech at the graduation ceremony that secondary school students should identify their personal traits, strengths and capabilities to gradually establish their life goals, gaining insights into national and regional development strategies as well as industry trends.
Wong added that young people should adopt a long-term perspective towards career development and prioritise accumulating practical experience.
Wong underscored that the bureau has launched multiple programmes, including internships programmes, enabling students to gain insights into diverse career paths and industry prospects in Macau.
Macau Youth Development Services Centre Deputy General Director Wong Chi Choi said in a speech he hopes that the graduates will apply their expertise in future career planning education initiatives, delivering professional guidance to Macau’s youth, widely covering career planning education for all secondary school students in Macau.
