Macau’s largest sale event, Sands Shopping Carnival, will again be held at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, with integrated resort operator Sands China noting in a statement on Thursday that it will be at an expanded scale.
Held from July 23 to 26, with the first day of the free-admission event being an invitation-only session, over 580 booths showcasing both international and local brands will be featured across eight themed zones. These are: Sands retailers, household products, gourmet and wine, food court, Macau cultural and creative, play and fun, sports experience, and a Macau specialties and souvenirs zone, the statement highlighted. The Cultural and Creative Zone will also feature brands from Macau, Hong Kong, and Guangdong selling their products.
The statement added that the event will also see over 5,000 “special MOP 1” items daily, along with “huge discounts of up to 90 percent off”.
Moreover, a new zone this year is the “Sports Experience Zone”, with its a pickleball experience being a particular highlight. The zone will also feature a free basketball shooting challenge, while another section, the “Play and Fun” Kids Area, will showcase sports game booths for families, according to the statement.
The carnival’s food court has also been “expanded to its largest scale yet”, with more than 50 internet-famous and popular Macau eateries, the statement said.
In terms of other activities, the carnival highlight “ICBC ePay Presents: Greater Bay Area Karaoke King Singing Competition” will be held from July 25 to 26, with the statement highlighting its overwhelming response. Gathering singers from Macau, Hong Kong and cities in Guangdong, the statement said that a grand prize of 10,000 patacas is up for grabs.
Other activities, the statement added, are BOC Smart Kids Presents: Little Master Chef Workshop, Bank of Communications Presents: “Play and Fun” Kids Area, and The Busking Corner, with one able to register on-site for free.
The statement said that the Sands Shopping Carnival has drawn over 640,000 visits across six editions, noting its popularity among residents from Macau, Hong Kong and elsewhere in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
