A man from Hong Kong was arrested recently for cheating HK$1.75 million from a mainland man in a luxury car purchase, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Choi said that the suspect, surnamed Hui, is a 39-year-old businessman who imports cars into Macau.
According to the Choi, the victim last August agreed to buy a Rolls-Royce from Hui, and paid Hui HK$5 million in cash. The deal was for the suspect to originally hand the car over to the victim in January. However, by March the victim still hadn’t got his car and neither could he reach Hui, so he made a report to the police.
