The government has granted the Macau Association for Promotion of Science and Technology, which is headed by legislator Jose Chui Sai Peng, a 5.9 million pataca service contract to compile general knowledge teaching materials for the city’s primary schools, according to yesterday’s Official Gazette (BO).
According to an order by Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, which was published in the gazette, the government will pay the money to the association over the next two years.
While Jose Chui is the group’s president, Xu Aoao, a former rector of the private Macau University of Science and Technology Macau (MUST), chairs the association’s general assembly, according to the association’s website. Zhao Wei, the rector of the public University of Macau (UM) heads the association’s supervisory board, the website says.
