Local Portuguese lender BNU announced in a statement yesterday that it launched its “BNU Pay” Digital Payment Solution yesterday, enabling UnionPay cardholders to pay with their smartphones in Macau, mainland China and overseas.
The launch of BNU Pay is in line with BNU’s “ongoing modernisation of banking services and solutions” to meet customer expectations and needs, the statement underlined.
According to the statement, the function is integrated with the BNU App and is an additional service provided within it. Moreover, customers using the app can bank online and pay merchants with just one app, the statement added.
The statement pointed out that BNU Pay can be used “anywhere UnionPay QR code is accepted”, adding that this method will make payment easier as well as reducing the need to carry cash or cards.
