The Londoner Macao said in a statement yesterday that it will launch its multimedia show “Changing of the Guard” next Friday, which will recreate “a dramatic display of British pageantry” at its Crystal Palace lobby atrium, and it promises to become the latest attraction in the property’s themed entertainment options.

The statement noted that the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London has a long history and is among the most popular tourist attractions in the UK, adding that the sight of soldiers in their bearskins and red tunics is indelibly linked with the country.

Performed six days a week, the multimedia show has more than 20 artists create a “spellbinding and Instagramable spectacle”, with The Londoner Macao’s Scots Guards, Heralding Trumpeters and Drummers appearing across multiple levels.

Moreover, the statement noted that modern twists are incorporated in the show such as special effects, music and dynamic images of the guards on 12 moving LED displays across three levels.

The show was created in conjunction with Hasbas Entertainment, which is known for bringing “emotional resonance and sophistication to mega-spectacles”, and has produced numerous award-winning live entertainment projects worldwide such as Universal Studios Hollywood’s Grand Opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, according to the statement.

The statement underlined that the show’s musical score was arranged by accomplished Los Angeles-based musician, composer and arranger Tim Heintz. His works have been featured on television, in films, and theme parks such as Disney Parks and Universal Studios.

The “Changing of the Guard” will take place at Crystal Palace from Tuesdays to Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and from Fridays to Sundays from at 4 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. There will be no shows on Mondays.

The integrated resort features other themed entertainment offerings such as the strolling ‘Streetmosphere’ artists, interactive Londoner Moments installations, and Londoner Light and Sound Spectacular and Elizabeth Tower Light Show.
