Office for Personal Data Protection (GPDP) Director Vasco Fong Man Chong said yesterday that the current Data Protection Law is capable of regulating cloud services.
According to Wikipedia, cloud computing is a kind of Internet-based computing that provides shared processing resources and data to computers and other devices on demand. It is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources such as servers, storage, applications and services, which can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort.
Fong made the remarks on the sidelines of a cloud processing seminar at the Tourism Activities Centre (CAT) in Zape.
