Under the government’s “Distinctive Shops” scheme, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) launched a website for Taipa’s “distinctive shops”, a DSEDT statement said yesterday.
According to the statement, considering consumers’ love for social media, the bureau has created an promotion video. The statement noted that the bureau invited historians and representatives from the tourism industry and district businesses to portray Taipa from different points of view. The statement pointed out that the video was released online and offline, through different media and platforms to maximise the promotion effect.
The statement also said the bureau used historical architecture as photo hotspots to attract residents and tourists to Taipa.
The statement pointed out that Taipa has a strong historical background and is an area where East meets West, and the past meets the present. The statement underlined that Taipa Village features a string of food and souvenir shops for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The bureau said in the statement it hoped that by using different forms of promotions it could attract different kinds of customers in order to improve the area’s economy.
