The government has yet to decide when to resubmit its cross-region judicial co-operation bill to the Legislative Assembly (AL), adding that the bureau was “still improving the bill”, Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) Liu Dexue said yesterday.
Liu was asked by reporters about the bill, after a closed-door meeting with the legislature’s 1st Standing Committee.
The government submitted the bill to the legislature earlier this year for debate and vote. However, Legislative Assembly (AL) President Ho Iat Seng told government-owned broadcaster TDM last month that the legislature “did not accept” the bill because of its “technical problems”.
