The participants in the 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K can sign up for their nucleic acid test (NAT) starting today at 10 a.m., the Sports Bureau (ID) said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, runners of the race, which will take place on April 11, must have their NAT test done in between April 5 and 10 and can book an appointment on the website https://app.ssm.gov.mo/sandsmacao10krnabook. The statement noted that the participants will be having their NAT tests at the new NAT station located at the Workers Stadium next to the Barrier Gate border checkpoint.

The bureau reminded participants to present their identification documents at the station, adding that they do not need to pay for their NAT test. The statement also said that for non-local residents, they must present their passport or their Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau (informally known as “two-way permit”) to the station.

The statement also said that after having the test, which participants can also arrange by themselves somewhere else, the participants must show a valid NAT negative certificate to the race officials prior to picking up their competition number. The bureau reminded the participants that the validity period of the NAT test must cover the day of the race.

The statement said that in order to ensure that the race will take place in a safe environment, the bureau will pay close attention to the COVID-19 situation. The bureau said that prior to the competition, all participants must have their temperature checked, and spectators and race officials will need to wear their facemasks at all times.

Moreover, the bureau urged runners to practise according to their health condition and carefully read the rules prior to the race. More information is available on www.macao10k.com.
