A ring-tailed lemur living in Seac Pai Van Park gave birth to twins a month ago, the Municipal Affairs Bureau said in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the mother and babies are in good health, adding that a special team will continue to monitor their health. The statement pointed out that ring-tailed lemurs usually only have one pup at a time and that they rarely have twins. The statement said that the team has yet to check their gender. The statement said that the two pups have already opened their eyes and their bodies are full of fur, adding that their appearance looks a lot like an adult lemur.

The statement said that after observing the newborns, the IAM official found them very active and that they are clinging to the mother’s belly all the time.

The statement said that due to their young age, they are still getting used to the environment, therefore they are still not ready to be shown to the public. The statement added that the Seac Pai Van Park’s monkey zone is closed for maintenance. For more information, residents can call 2833 7676.
