Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng will attend tomorrow’s opening ceremony for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2021 in Hainan province, according to a statement by the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS) on Friday.

The statement said that Ho and his delegation will stay in Boao today and tomorrow. The forum is themed “A World in Change: Join Hands to Strengthen Global Governance and Advance Belt and Road Cooperation”.

The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021 – held between yesterday and Wednesday – features six modules: “Explore China”; “Understand the Changing World”; “Belt & Road (BRI) Cooperation”; “Embrace the Industrial Changes”; “Dance with New Technologies”; and “Development for All”.

“Through open discussion and exchange of opinions, the forum is designed to expand the base of consensus regarding world development, and to vitalise global governance in a post-pandemic era,” the statement said.

This week’s forum is mostly being held via in-person meetings, the statement noted, adding that, however, some sessions will be held virtually to facilitate the participation of international representatives.
