The ferry route between Macau’s Taipa Ferry Terminal and Humen town of Dongguan city will resume tomorrow, with one round trip per day, a Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) statement said yesterday.

According to the statement, the ferry will depart from Humen at 10 a.m. The return sailing will depart from Taipa Ferry Terminal at 3 p.m.

The route debuted in October 2019, jointly operated by locally registered Yuet Tung Shipping Co. Ltd. and Dongguan City Humen HK/Macau Passenger Ferry Co. Ltd. – a fully-owned subsidiary of Dongguan Communications Investment Group Co. Ltd. which is owned by the Dongguan city government. According to a previous report, a one-way trip will take 100 minutes. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic the ferry service was suspended in February 2020, shortly after its launch.

Yesterday’s statement said that the bureau reminded passengers to double-check’s their destination’s COVID-19 prevention measures before boarding the ferry. The statement also stressed that the bureau has urged the ferry company to disinfect and deep-clean the terminal and the vessel before the resumption. The statement also said that passengers must wear facemasks at all times, or else the ferry company reserves the right to refuse those who violate the rules to board the vessel.
