An exhibition by local artist Heidi Ng Hoi Teng (吳凱婷) is displaying her artwork at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac.

The exhibition titled “Within The Time” (在記憶之間 in Chinese) is sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).

According to a statement Ng sent to The Macau Post Daily earlier this week, she was born in Macau in 1995. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2018 in Theatre and Performance Design from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) with a scholarship provided by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (ICM). She worked as a major theatre designer at Britain’s Slung Low Theatre Company in the same year. Ng has been participating in art exhibitions in Macau such as at the AFA (Art for All Society) Autumn Salon, Macao Art Salon, Women Artists 1st International Biennial of Macau.

According to the statement, the exhibition showcases a new series of work about her memories. “Time” has always been the subject of exploration on her creative path and each work represents a story. These stories come from an unpublished story book entitled “The Bedtime Story” which she wrote between 2017 and 2018 and shared with her friends.

The statement points out that the exhibits combine texts and abstract patterns and aim to present a kind of nostalgic diary. Ng hopes, according to the statement, that the exhibition will lead visitors to recall their own beautiful and uniquely precious memories when viewing her work.

The exhibition runs until May 9 at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac. It opens from noon to 8 p.m. daily (except Mondays). Admission is free.

As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code.
