Over 16,000 people visited the Kun Iam Statue Waterfront Park Leisure Area in the first three days of the month, a Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) statement said yesterday.
According to the statement, over 16,000 people visited the promenade over the May Day weekend, and the bureau has assessed the facilities to ensure the users’ safety.
The statement pointed out that the facilities have been used immensely in the past few days so the bureau’s staff checked and fixed the facilities yesterday. The statement stressed that during the maintenance period, the playground area of the promenade was still open to the people who had reserved a spot online and only a few facilities were closed off for check-ups.
The statement said that the playground area has a lot of facilities that are suitable for families and children aged 5 to 12. The statement stressed that parents should always keep an eye on their children to provide guidance and supervision. The statement also underlined that adults should not use the children’s facilities, especially the rope course.
The statement underlined that the Kun Iam Statue promenade is going through a trial run, adding that the bureau will pay close attention to the state of the facilities and will constantly gauge public opinion on the city’s latest leisure area.
