An exhibition of artwork by teachers and pupils from Colégio Diocesano de São José 1 to 4 (CDSJ1-4), titled “Pass on Love and Kindness” in Chinese and “Heritage of Charity” in Portuguese, marks the Catholic school’s 90th anniversary.
It is on display at the gallery of the Education Resources Centre of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
According to a statement provided by DESDJ, the event is sponsored by the bureau and organised by the school as part of a string of activities to celebrate the school’s 90th anniversary.
Adhering to the spirit of the school’s commitment to serve others and its mission, the exhibition aims to convey teachers’ selfless dedication to art that they are keen to pass on to their pupils by upholding the school’s “people-orientated” philosophy and growing together by helping others, according to the statement.
The joint exhibition by the four schools under the Colégio Diocesano de São José umbrella aims to provide a platform for teachers and pupils to showcase more than 100 pieces of their original and diverse creations, including different types of paintings, computer drawings, resin clay, crumpled paper flowers, and ceramics, the statement said.
The exhibition runs until May 17 in the ground-floor Zizhan Gallery of the DSEDJ’s Education Resources Centre at 926 Avenida da Praia Grande. It opens daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 prevention measures, visitors need to wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code when entering the gallery.
