A concert by guitarist and musical pioneer Yang Xuefei will be held at the Grand Auditorium of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM), according to a CCM statement.
The statement said that the Macau Cultural Centre, with the support of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will host the event.
According to the statement, Yang, who was born in Beijing, achieved success at the China International Guitar Festival at the age of ten. The statement pointed out that at the Beijing National Centre of performing arts, she also performed her first recital and concerto as a young guitarist.
The statement further noted that she eventually became one of the few classical guitarists to sign with major international record labels. The statement highlighted that she also achieved international recognition in a number of reputable venues such as the Vienna Concert Hall and New York’s Lincoln Centre, as well as having played with the world’s major orchestras in over 50 countries across most continents.
The statement said that Yang will play her interpretations of Chinese Folk music and Latin compositions, adding that she will collaborate with erhu player Lu Yiwen and pipa player Sun Ying. A pre-show talk in Cantonese will be held one hour before the performance at the centre’s Conference room for those who want to know more about the concert and Yang, the statement added.
The statement noted that the event will be held on June 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at CCM’s box office and Macau Ticketing Network outlets at different prices with discounts available.
The statement stressed that given the current epidemic situation, attendees are required to wear a mask, present their Macau Health Code and have their temperature taken.
