A total of 11 children from two nurseries came down with the enterovirus, the Health Bureau (SSM) statement said yesterday.
According to the statement, the first collective case occurred in the nursery of Hou Kong Secondary School in Estrada do Repouso, involving seven 2-year-old children. The statement noted that the seven patients comprise four boys and three girls. The second case was at Crèche S. João da Obra das Mães in Taipa, involving four 1-year-old children. The statement said that they are two boys and two girls.
The statement said that the patients came down with enterovirus symptoms between last Friday and Sunday. The statement said that all of the children have seen a doctor and none of them has serious complications. The bureau said it has collected some samples for further testing and has disinfected the classrooms.
