The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced yesterday the arrests of three people from the Philippines on suspicion of selling and taking drugs.
A PJ spokesperson revealed details of the case during a special press conference. The three suspects were identified by the spokesperson as a 27-year-old unemployed woman surnamed Huertas and two males, a 32-year-old named Tunale and a 37-year-old named Sernadilla. Tunale works for a local hotel while Sernadilla is a technician employed by a local company.
The spokesperson said the police were recently tipped off that a Filipina was selling drugs. A follow-up investigation confirmed the identity of the female suspect. On Tuesday PJ officers put the female suspect’s flat in Rua do Almirante Sergio under surveillance. The woman left her home later and met Tunale nearby. PJ officers stopped searched both but found no drugs.
