A local man was arrested on Saturday for sexually harassing his ex-girlfriend on June 13 in a bar’s toilet, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheuk Kou Chi said at a press conference yesterday.

The 30-year-old local suspect surnamed Chan told the police that he is a decorator.

According to Cheuk, a woman reported to the police on June 15 that she had been sexually harassed by her ex-boyfriend in the toilet of a bar in Fai Chi Kei in the early morning of June 13. The victim told the police that she went to the bar with Chan, her ex-boyfriend, that day and when she went to the bathroom, Chan followed her inside. He allegedly touched her chest and lower body. She immediately left the bar and decided to report the case to the police two days later.

Cheuk said that PSP officers told Chan to report to a police station on Saturday for questioning. Chan denied having sexually harassed the victim and claimed that he went to the bathroom with his ex-girlfriend as he needed to use the toilet and also vomited.

Cheuk pointed out that there’s only one toilet in the bar.

The case has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP). Chan faces a sexual harassment charge, according to Cheuk.
