MITE logs 24,000 visitors & inks 39 deals

The 9th Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), which ended on Sunday, attracted 24,000 visitors and signed 39 contracts, a Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) statement said yesterday.

According to the statement, the expo, which started on Friday, accumulated a total of 4,974 business-to-business meetings while the cumulative view counts hit 7.81 million for its “Cloud Live Broadcast”.

The statement noted that the expo featured 708 booths, 394 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions – including 106 local exhibitors, 265 exhibitors from the mainland and Taiwan as well as 23 foreign exhibitors. The statement said there were 339 buyers including 195 invited buyers from the mainland and 144 online buyers from around the world.

The statement said that its “Cloud B2B” was held from June 28 to July 11, adding that it lined up 52 exhibitors with 162 buyers for 412 online business-to-business meetings. The statement also said that two mainland “influencers” and six local ones broadcast during the three-day expo who reached 123,000 views at the peak.

The statement also said that the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDJ) arranged for 20 local “Distinctive Shops” such as eateries, confectioners and bakeries, souvenir shops, retailers and handicraft businesses to join the expo as exhibitors to present the “unique colours of Macau’s community culture”.
