Lisboeta Macau’s (葡京人) night market, ZIPCITY, GoAirborne and some other retail attractions will open tomorrow, the resort in Cotai said in a statement earlier this week.
According to the statement, Lisboeta Macau’s overall design concept pays homage to the city’s culture and old Macau’s landscape. The statement noted that the hotel is divided into two thematic zones: “Retrospective Zone” and “Futuristic Zone”, aiming to showcase the development of Macau since the 1960s, as well as envisioning its “exciting future and potential.”
The statement pointed out that the “Retrospective Zone” draws inspiration from the traditional Portuguese tiles, architectural details and other landmarks such as Macau Palace, the old floating casino, which was featured in the 1974 James Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun”, and a mosaic façade on the wall inspired by the now-defunct Hotel Estoril. The statement added that ZIPCITY Macau is in a 60-metre-tall building that looks like the New Central Hotel in the city centre.
The statement added that in the “Futuristic Zone” there will be a shopping mall, food court and other entertainment leisure attractions, a glass roof canopy bringing in natural daylight and an installation of a replica of the “Bird Cage’”.
The statement noted that GoAirborne is also opening tomorrow which offers Macau’s first indoor skydiving facility, situated in a fully frameless glass tunnel spanning over four metres in diameter and standing 15 metres tall to simulate an actual flying visual experience, which is the first in the Asia Pacific area. The statement said that GoAirborne offers an adventurous journey for first-time flyers as young as four years to the most accomplished skydivers. The statement underlined that visitors will be able to experience the real sensation of free fall in a safe, controlled indoor environment guided by internationally certified tunnel instructors.
