Macau's highest court has announced that it will decide on the separate appeals by three Legislative Assembly (AL) direct-election candidacy groups in one go.
The Court of Final Appeal (TUI) made the announcement in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the three-judge court will pronounce a single judgement on the appeals by the Democratic Macau Association, New Macau Progressives and New Macau Progressive Association against their respective disqualification from the September 12 direct election of 14 seats in the legislature.
The court said that its single judgement will be based on the joinder (known in Portuguese as "apensação") of the three appellants' cases.
According to the statement, the judgement will be made within five days following Monday's announcement.
The Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Commission (CAEAL) announced on July 9 that it decided to disqualify the three lists from running in the September 12 election because they allegedly failed to support the Macau Basic Law or have been disloyal to the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
After the three so-called "pro-democracy" lists' separate objections to their disqualification from the election were rejected by the commission they submitted their respective appeals to Macau's top court.
