Public Administration Building closed over Delta variant scare

As a COVID-19 Delta variant carrier visited the Public Administration Building on Rua do Campo on July 29, the building is closed starting today until further notice, a Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) statement said yesterday.

The statement said that the carrier visited the Second Public Notary Office on the third floor, therefore the building is closed from today to undergo deep cleaning and disinfection, adding that some services have been relocated to the Macau Government Services Centre in Areia Preta, Macau Government Services Centre in Taipa and CNAC Building in Nape.

The bureau statement stated that the Real Estate Registry (phone: 8296 9025), Commerce and Movable Property Registry (phone: 28574258) and Second Public Notary Office (phone: 28574258) have been moved to the Macau Government Services Centre in Areia Preta, while the Civil Affairs Registry (phone: 83954517) has been relocated to the Macau Government Services Centre in Taipa, while some of the Legal Affairs Bureau’s services will be relocated to the CNAC Building in Nape.

The statement also said that the First Public Notary Office, Island Public Notary Office and Legal Services at the CNAC Building in Nape remain unchanged.

Science and Technology Development Fund urges suspension of events

The Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) said in a statement yesterday that in order to align with the government’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures, the fund is urging subsidised organisations to suspend all events at which crowds could gather, including in-person classes, talks, lectures, forums or trips outside Macau, until further notice.

The statement said that organisations could host events online or postpone activities, adding that those who decide to have classes online could apply for reimbursement if the organisation could prove that the expense is absolutely necessary.

The statement said that affected subsidised organisations can call 28788777 for more information or email saf@fdct.gov.mo.

Recycling centres remain suspended

The Environment Protection Bureau (DSPA) said in a statement yesterday that in order to comply with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) guidelines, its recycling services, comprising its home-collection service, portable recycling vehicle programme, portable recycling, fixed recycling spots, four recycle FUN programmes – recycling spots, portable recycling vehicles and its clean recycling street stations – will all remain closed until further notice.

The statement said that the bureau will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic development in Macau and make arrangements accordingly. The bureau thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation.
