Behind a flower shop, a bakery and a Taiwanese tea shop in Estrada de Coelho do Amaral, near the Red Market, Tak Chun Charitable Association and, upstairs, Origin Point Therapy (OPT) Clinic operate.
Tak Chun is involved in a lot of activities, such as visits to elderly homes, and it has built a school in the mainland where it provides the children with scholarships and their stationery. Buddhist charity Origin Point helps people in pain, especially cancer sufferers, with massage and acupuncture.
MPD Weekender recently spoke to Jonathan Man, a Tak Chun member, about the association’s activities, and with Lam Yu Leong about the work of OPT.
