An exhibition of artwork by local students entitled “Respect for Teachers and Education” (尊師重道) is on display at the gallery of the Education Resources Centre of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
According to a statement on the bureau’s website, the event is supported by the bureau to showcase local students’ winning works of a poster and comic competition organised by the bureau to celebrate Teacher’s Day.
The competition aimed for students to create artworks for Teacher’s Day to convey messages of respect and love for teachers, showing students’ gratitude to teachers.
It provided an opportunity for students to express their spirit of respecting teachers, and show their messages of how their teachers guide them and thus make them feel thankful to their teachers, the statement underlined.
The exhibition runs until September 23 in the ground-floor Zizhan Gallery of the DSEDJ’s Education Resources Centre at 926 Avenida da Praia Grande. It opens daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 prevention measures, visitors need to wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health code when entering the gallery.
Teachers Day takes place on September 10 in the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau. Taiwan marks the day on September 28.
