The Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM) said in a statement yesterday that the China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) will take place on November 13 and 14, and registration is open now.
The statement said that the CATTI exam is a national exam to prove the professionalism of translators and interpreters. The statement said that exam takers will have a written and/or an oral exam to ensure the quality of one’s translation or interpretation ability. The statement underlined that the exam is recognised by most companies and is popular among students and higher education institutions.
The statement noted that the Macau Polytechnic Institute signed a contract with CATTI in March, becoming the first exam location in Hong Kong and Macau. The statement pointed out that the first exam took place in June, catering for Hong Kong and Macau students.
According to the statement, the next CATTI will take place on the IPM campus on November 13 and 14 at the same time as in the mainland. In order to help exam takers prepare for the exam, CATTI has organised an online briefing with CATTI certificate holders sharing their experience of taking the exam with future examinees.
The statement said that the online briefing will take place on September 28 (next Tuesday) from 7 p.m.- 8p.m. via Zoom. Those interested can enter through the Zoom meeting code 912 7781 0290 or enter via https://zoom.us/j/91277810290.
