2 skippers fined after crash under old Macau-Taipa Bridge: DSAMA

         The Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) said in a statement that a cargo vessel and a fishing boat crashed under the Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge yesterday morning, adding that the skippers of both boats were fined due to their violation of marine regulations.

According to the statement, at around 9:10 a.m. a cargo ship and a fishing boat which was towing another fishing boat collided under the old Macau-Taipa bridge. The statement underlined that there were no injuries. The statement pointed out that after scrutinising the CCTV clip, Macau Customs Service officers confirmed that both the cargo ship and the fishing boat did not stay on their own sides of the fairway.

The statement underlined that the two fishing boats were slightly damaged and none of the vessels was in immediate danger. The bureau urged skippers to be stay in their navigation channels and abide by the marine traffic regulations to avoid accidents.
