Lau Fong Chi, who heads the Public Relations Division of the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), said during yesterday’s regular press conference by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre that the Broadway Hotel Macau for Galaxy in Cotai has set aside 200 of its rooms to non-resident workers (NRWs) and visitors for “self-health management”.
According to Lau, as there are NRWs and visitors that still have yellow Macau Health Codes and are unable to leave Macau for another seven days due to the government-imposed “self-health management” requirement after having been quarantined for 14 days, the Broadway Hotel Macau is offering hotel rooms for 350 patacas no meals included.
Lau urged the tourism sector to show its social responsibility and provide NRWs and visitors with rooms at a “reasonable rate” during this “difficult time”.
Meanwhile, Lau also announced that the Sheraton Grand Macao’s Sky Tower has already become one of the government’s medical observation quarantine hotels, accommodating up to 2,000 quarantinees.
